07:15 UTC--Fifteen minutes after sunrise and first contact: Partial solar eclipses do not carry the drama of central, and especially total solar eclipses. However, at sunrise and through clouds, one can make some interesting and unusual images. All that atmosphere reduces the sunlight at the horizon and a low ISO setting makes these images possible. However, one still must exercise caution when viewing even a piece of the sun without protection, especially through telephoto lenses.
